Many of our readers are frequently asking about the best DIY help and instruction for solar and wind power generation with regard to cost effectiveness and ease of implementation.
The two reviews below are actually both on wind and solar photovoltaics, each  product has it's strong points as far as the strength of the information on wind or solar power generation.

Earth 4 Energy

Homemade Energy

I have been building alternative energy systems, mainly solar and wind, and even a few small to medium residential hydroelectric plants for quite a few years. I have read just about everything for DIY solar, wind power, and hydroelectric that I could get my hands on since 1992.

After reviewing both Earth 4 Energy and Homemade Power I have come to some the following conclusions:

Both have really good written instructions and diagrams that take you step by step through the process of fabricating both a solar electric system and a wind generation plant.

I would have to say that because of the video instruction in Earth 4 Energy, that would be my top pick.
Although I have both of them, I find that they are both useful and complement each other.
Being able to see the videos of the process in action might be better for those who are creating their first
alternative power system. Those who are more experienced may not care.

Earth 4 energy is $49.95  as opposed to Homemade Energy which is $47.00,  so if you think having the videos would help you, it just a few dollars more.

One thing that I would add for their wind power information is, spend the extra bucks on higher grade bearings, you will be glad you did after millions of blade rotations.
